Construction documentation

The Swiss Open-Air Museum has divided its over 100 historical buildings into 12 areas. Each area is home to historical buildings specific to the region. The Open-Air Museum’s building information booklets provide a description of the museum buildings at their place of origin and explain any structural changes made as part of their translocation. Themes include the building culture of rural Switzerland, the history of the inhabitants and economy, and the museum’s educational work.

The building information booklets can be downloaded free of charge and are organised according to the areas in the museum.
